Looking at this setup, I definitely think that the main thing that is missing from your drawing is a strong sense of the plane that makes up the area where the drapery falls across the higher platform of this piece of furniture. I see the effect that it is having in the photo. Make good use of your line variation and planes to make sure we see it in your drawing.
